Demographic Ageing in Japan and Switzerland: Action Through Exchange and Dialogue

The WDA Forum organised an unique Symposium about similarities and differences between the two \"island nations\" Japan and Switzerland. The event took place from 23rd until 25th May 2012 at the Swiss Re Centre for Global Dialogue in Rüschlikon, Switzerland. Both coountries feature several analogies. This includes not only economical and technological developments but also the demographic change which is taking place. The ageing of the population as well as the shrinking birth rates result in a decline of work force. The way they deal with it is rather diverse. We were very proud to welcome more than a dozen of Japanese experts sharing the latest status about the situation in Japan including the different strategies developed and adopted.
